I am staying in the Cottages of Eastern Lake, Can I Rent a Street Legal Golf Cart?
Yes, if you’re staying at the Cottages of Eastern Lake, you certainly have the option to rent a Street Legal Golf Cart for your vacation. The community consists of single-family homes designed in the classic Florida Cottage style. As long as your driveway isn’t overly crowded with vehicles, you’re free to rent as many Golf Carts as your group requires.

How Our Delivery and Pickup Schedule Works
Our pickup and delivery schedule is meant to reflect the check-in and check-out times of your vacation rental. Delivery is promised by 4 PM on your scheduled date of delivery and carts are picked up by 9 AM on your scheduled pickup date. If this schedule does not work for you, please call or text (850) 737-1046, and will do our best to accommodate you.
Delivery is free on all rentals 4 days or more.

What type of Golf Cart should you rent if you are staying in the Cottages of Eastern Lake?

If you’re staying in the Cottages community, you can rent either a Gas or Electric Street Legal Golf Cart. We book dozens of rentals each year for guests staying on Lakewood Drive or within the Cottages community, with a mix of Gas and Electric Cart rentals.
With one of our Premium Lithium Electric Street Legal Golf Carts, you can expect to get about 27 – 30 miles of range on a single charge. To put that into perspective, 30A spans approximately 24 miles from the West to the East end. Technically speaking, a single charge could take you from one end of 30A to the other. However, such usage would be irresponsible, and we strongly discourage it.
On the other hand, our Premium Gas Street Legal Golf Carts can cover a significant 200 miles on a full tank of gas. Realistically, this means you could travel from one end of 30A to the other about eight times before needing a refill. Note that this is an excessive estimate, and it’s rare for any of our groups renting gas golf carts to need a fill-up during their trip.
The best way to decide what type of cart is right for your group is to plan out your vacation. If you’re going to be frequently traveling to 30A towns like Grayton Beach or Gulf Place, you’ll likely want to rent a Gas Street Legal Golf Cart.
Below, we’ve listed all the major 30A communities that permit Golf Carts, along with their distances in both miles and driving time from the Cottages of Eastern Lake. Use this information to help plan your day trips and decide which type of cart best suits your group’s needs.

The difference between a Gas and Lithium Electric Street Legal Golf Cart
If you were to ask any of us at Street Legal Golf Cart Rentals which type of cart we prefer, we’d unanimously say: Electric. Electric Golf Carts are faster, quieter, and provide a smoother ride compared to their gas counterparts. We always advise our customers to opt for an Electric Street Legal Golf Cart if they can.
Gas Golf Carts, on the other hand, can be jerkier at lower speeds, significantly louder, and sometimes emit a gas-like odor. While there’s nothing wrong with our Gas Golf Carts or Gas Carts in general, the ride quality simply doesn’t compare.
It’s important to clarify that we wouldn’t offer Gas Golf Carts if they weren’t a viable and great choice; it’s just that we operate our business based on honesty, and honestly, Electric carts provide a superior ride.
If I rent an Electric Cart where can I charge it?
Each home in the Cottages of Eastern Lake is equipped with an outdoor outlet that can be used to charge one of our Premium Electric Street Legal Golf Carts. These carts are compatible with standard 110-volt outlets. Simply put, anywhere you can charge a phone or plug in a TV, you can charge one of our Electric Golf Carts. To alleviate any concerns about charging, each of our Electric Cart rentals includes the black charging cable supplied by the manufacturer and an extension cord. If, for any reason, you require an additional extension cord to reach an outlet, please let us know, and we will happily provide one.
If I rent a Gas Street Legal Golf Cart where I can fill it up on 30A?
There are only a few gas stations located on 30A so always check your fuel and know how far away you are from the nearest gas station.
The closest gas station to the Cottages of Eastern Lake is the Tom Thumb that is also located in Seagrove about 1.8 miles away or roughly a 7-8 minute Street Legal Golf Cart ride away.
There’s another Tom Thumb located in Dune Allen at the west end of 30A. Due to the distance, it’s unlikely you’ll need to refuel at this station; however, for the sake of information, it’s about a 30-minute drive (10.5 miles) from the Cottages community.
There is a Chevron just off of 30A in Inlet Beach. However, the only way to get to this gas station via Street Legal Golf Cart is to drive to the very East end of 30A and pull into the Shades Bar & Grill Parking Lot which is located right before the Highway 98 and 30A intersection.
THIS IS VERY CRUCIAL THAT YOU PULL INTO THIS PARKING LOT BECAUSE STREET LEGAL GOLF CARTS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON HIGHWAY 98. IT IS ILLEGAL AND INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS!
Once you enter the parking lot you can drive around the restaurant from the back and from there you will be able to pull into the Chevron. To leave follow same route you took to get to the Chevron.
Will Street Legal Golf Cart Rentals Deliver to the Cottages of Eastern Lake?
Yes, as mentioned earlier, we serve a large number of customers each year who stay in the Cottages of Eastern Lake or in the general area off Lakewood Dr. It’s also worth noting that our 30A location is just a mile down the road from Lakewood Dr.
Can I Avoid Delivery Fees If I Pick Up the Golf Cart Myself?
Unfortunately, during the peak spring and summer seasons, we do not offer discounts for self pick-up of the Golf Cart. While you are certainly welcome to pick up the cart yourself, there are no financial savings associated with this option. However, if you choose to pick up the cart yourself, you will benefit from a 24-hour rental timeframe instead of the standard 16-hour day. For example, customers who opt for a 4-day delivery from Monday to Thursday during the peak spring and summer seasons can expect to receive the cart by 4 PM on Monday, and we will pick up the cart between 7 – 9 AM on Thursday. On the other hand, if you pick up the cart from our location at 12 PM on Monday for a 4-day rental, you would return the cart at 12 PM on Thursday.
With our Seagrove shop being only a mile down the road from the Cottages community we have a lot of customers who opt to just pick up the cart from our shop.
